Flowering time, development and yield in oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.):
Sequence diversity in regulatory genes, miRNA expression and abiotic stress responses
Research Interests
My main research focus is the genetic regulation of climaticadaptation. The species I am mainlyinvestigating is the polyploid oil crop Brassica napus. In my projects, the main questions deal with natural diversity among flowering time genes, the influence of flowering time genes on adaptation and yield and the interplay between stress signaling and developmental pathways. Methodologically, I mainly work with NGS data (target enrichment/ exome sequencing, re-sequencing data, RNAseq, small RNA sequencing) and gene expression analysis. At the moment, I work on meiosis gene variation in different Brassica species. In my next project funded by the DFG, I will deal with the mutation rate of newly formed polyploids.
