Kickoff Funding

The RCSC funds academic workshops, consultancy formats, and events that aim at preparing collaborative funding proposals and high-ranking funding applications for individuals, like for instance ERC grants, in the interdisciplinary study of culture. Its philosophy is to involve early career researchers, beginning with the doctoral stage, in the preparation of proposals, thus providing them with the opportunity to gain experience in collaborative academic work that pursues strategic goals. For the academic support of workshops and consultancy formats, the RCSC’s international network, such as Peer Net, the GCSC’s international collaborative networks, and networks of the RCSC’s partner institutions are in place.
Kickoff funding is thematically open for any proposals in the interdisciplinary study of culture. We especially invite proposals that situate themselves in JLU’s area of potential “Culture and Conflict”, for which the RCSC is the institutional host, and proposals that broaden the scope of interdisciplinary collaboration beyond the humanities and social sciences.
The ceiling for applications is EUR 2,500.-. Applications should contain information on the following items and not exceed two pages:
- project leader and collaborators
- type and theme of project
- aim (i.e., envisaged extramural funding line)
- interdisciplinary composition
- involvement of doctoral researchers
- budget plan and time plan
