Privacy Policy
The Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU) processes your personal data for Alumni Network purposes (Alumni Newsletter, information on JLU social networks, invitations to JLU events, and individual contact within the Alumni program context). This also includes graduate surveys and information regarding JLU advanced education offerings. Contingent on your consent, the legal basis is art. 6 para. 1a and 1c of the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR) in combination with § 12 para. 7 HHG.
Your personal data may be shared with JLU employees or other public administration offices, which require your data to fulfil their assignments.
We retain your personal data until ist intended purpose is achieved or until you choose to withdraw your consent.
You may request information on your personal data at any time, may correct errors or limit processing (art. 15, 16 and 18 EU-GDPR). Should you suspect illegal usage of your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Hessen Data Protection authorities (art. 77 EU-GDPR, § 55 of the Hessen Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act). You also have the right to revoke your data processing consent and have your data deleted. Until that time, processing your data remains legal (art. 7 para. 3 and art. 17 EU-GDPR).

Once your revocation has been received, JLU will delete your personal data.
