Professional career

Ayşe-Martina Böhringer studied at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. She completed her studies in 2007 with the first state examination in law. 

After her first state examination in law, she worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Public Law, International Law and European Law (Prof. Dr. Thilo Marauhn) from 2007 to 2011. Her research interests included international environmental law, European resource law, constitutional law and selected areas of Turkish law. Ms. Böhringer has taught European resource law and has been involved in numerous academic projects in international environmental and development law. In 2008, she took up a lectureship at the Dokuz Eylül University in İzmir (Turkey).

She spent her legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Giessen with stations at the Regional Council of Giessen, among others. During her legal clerkship, she continued to work as a research project assistant at the chair. In December 2013, she passed her second state examination in law.

In 2013, she received her doctorate from the Faculty of Law at Justus Liebig University Giessen. Her dissertation deals with the “Cooperation Agreements of the Secretariats of Multilateral Environmental Agreements”.

After her legal clerkship, she worked as a salaried lawyer in Frankfurt/Main, where her main areas of practice included hazardous substances and product law.

In summer 2015, she returned to Prof. Dr. Thilo Marauhn's Chair of Public Law and International Law.

Constitutional law; administrative law; sociology of law; legal theory; church law/religious constitutional law; general international law; peacekeeping law including the law of international organizations; international environmental and environmental law; international humanitarian law; sociology of international law; European and international human rights protection
