Examination Offices

For all questions regarding the examination process, the registration procedure and the examination requirements, please contact the respective examination office for your degree programme/department. You can also apply to the examination office for recognition of examinations you have already taken.

Faculty 01: Law

The Hessische Ministerium der Justiz: Justizprüfungsamt  is responsible for the
  • Staatliche Pflichtfachprüfung und Erste Prüfung
  • Erste juristische Staatsprüfung

The Service Centre for Studies and Examinations - Examination Office FB 01 is responsible for the

  • Intermediate examination and
  • Specialisation examination

The Dean's Office Faculty 01 is responsible for the examination administration for the Magister Legum.

 

Faculty 02: Economics and Business Studies

The Examination Office and Study Coordination is responsible for the following courses of study:

Teaching Degree Programmes

The Prüfungsamt für die Lehramtsstudiengänge im Zentrum für Lehrerbildung (ZfL) is responsible for

  • module examinations and
  • intermediate examinations

in modularised teaching degree courses.

The Hessische Lehrkräfteakademie - Prüfungsstelle Gießen is responsible for
  • first state examinations in the teaching degree programmes and
  • recognitions of academic achievements and examinations taken in other programmes or at other universities

Die Hessische Lehrkräfteakademie - Prüfungsstelle Gießen is not part of the university, but is subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs.
