Since February 2016, Prof. Dr. Monika Schuhmacher has been the Chair of Technology, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. She is also the Director of the Entrepreneurship Cluster Mittelhessen at the same university, as well as the spokesperson for the research cluster "Managing Dissolving Boundaries in a Digital Era" at the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies. In the past, Monika Schuhmacher has taught at the University of Mannheim, Mannheim Business School, Copenhagen Business School in Denmark, and ESSEC Graduate School in France.
Monika Schuhmacher studied at the University of Mannheim (Dipl.-Kffr.) and the University of North Carolina, Greensboro (M.B.A.). Upon returning to Germany, she obtained her doctoral and post-doctoral qualifications at the University of Mannheim.
Her research focuses mainly on technology and innovation management and marketing, open innovation, reverse innovation, business model innovation, digitization and the Internet of Things, and entrepreneurial marketing. Prof. Schuhmacher's teaching focuses mainly on strategic technology and innovation management, innovation marketing, entrepreneurship, marketing management, and global marketing. Her work has been published in journals such as the International Journal of Research in Marketing, the Journal of Product Innovation Management, and Creativity & Innovation Management.
Prof. Schuhmacher is also a consultant in the areas of technology management, innovation management, and marketing for international companies and cooperates in research and teaching with well-known companies such as Daimler, BASF, Bosch, Grohe, and Roche. Additionally, she is a member of various juries for the awarding of entrepreneur and founder prizes.
