Knowledge Transfer

The researchers and teachers of the faculty are involved in a variety of ways of transferring scientific knowledge to the regional and national public.

The Giessen Antiques Collection is open to the public almost daily, offering attractive special exhibitions and events many times a year.

The Collegium Gissenum is an annual series of courses organised by the Institute of Philosophy in collaboration with the President of the JLU. Every summer semester, there is a series of lectures on various philosophical issues that address students of all faculties as well as all interested Giessen citizens in a language that is commonly understood.

The dies academicus of the theologies offers a lecture every summer semester in which theological topics and questions are presented to a broad audience.

Beyond that, many institutes of the faculty participate in the JLU continued training programme for teachers and thus promote a dialogue that has already been fruitful for many decades.
