Business English and Communication
The Business English and Communication Section offers specialized language courses to help students build their confidence in academic and professional areas and to promote an understanding of the types of professional opportunities that lie ahead.
The module for BA students in the MFKW (Modern Languages, Cultures and Economics/Business Studies) course of studies provides an overview of the most interesting areas in business and economics with a focus on the necessary communication competencies in these subject areas. BA/MFKW students are required to take 'Business and Economics I' as a prerequisite course in the winter term before taking 'Business and Economics II', which is only offered in the summer term. The BA course Introduction to Business Communication can be taken in either the winter or summer term.
At the graduate level (MA/MFKW), the courses offered include research seminars about corporate communications and related forms of organizational discourse, as well as profile courses on various topics of advanced communication, from Persuasion to Public Relations and Integrated Marketing Communications. Further topics include HRM, International Business and Intercultural Communications, as well as Media - all offered in rotation.
