Dr. Ric Allsopp (b.1950) studied at Dartington College of Arts (BA Hons.) and the Universities of Warwick (MA), Exeter and Plymouth (Ph.D) . From 1984 - 90 he was Lecturer in Theatre at Dartington. From 1990 - 94 he was a Research Associate with the Centre for Performance Research in Cardiff, Wales and taught theoretical courses in performance at the School for New Dance in Amsterdam. In 1992 he co-founded Writing Research Associates (WRA) with Scott deLahunta, an international partnership organising, promoting and publishing in the expanded field of performance. Projects include Migrations (Centre for Contemporary Culture, Barcelona, 2000); In the Event of Text (HKU, Utrecht, 1999) and Performance Writing: A Symposium (Dartington,1996).
In 1995 he co-founded (with Claire MacDonald and Richard Gough) the contemporary performance journal Performance Research published quarterly in London by Routledge/ Taylor & Francis and currently in its ninth volume (2004). Recent performance works include the installation series Fire Tables (1997-2000) and Circulate/ Isolate (2000-) both of which explore the ephemeralities of text and the moment and location of its performance. His publications include "The Connected Body" (1996) and numerous articles on performance, writing and contemporary practice for various journals. He has performed, lectured, run workshops and organised events widely in Europe and elsewhere, and is currently Reader in Performance Research and Director of the Writing at Dartington College of Arts, UK.

Photographed by Mike May
"As a boy Mike went blind after playing with chemicals on an industrial area. Since 2002 he has been cured of his blindness: A microchip implant replaces the damaged retina and is constantly sending light signals to his portable computer. The computer converts the data of Mike’s eye and sends electric signals to his nervous system. On the computer, these signals and pictures are storable." On april 6th, we´ll make them visable.

Utopie und Realität im Siedlungsgebiet
places of the student city, a portrait
For and with inhabitants of Munich
a piece during one day (and preliminary work)
with inhabitants of the student city.
Material: Discussion with the life situation in the biggest student city of Germany, the former Olympic village in Munich.
A very pressed private living space: single-plastic ready made appartment from a piece poured, like the toilets of German railways. Remind at animal boxes. On 11 square metres in a 10 floors high building with 25 parties on a hall.
On the stage: a culinary line. The play took place as much as possible in the space of upper cupboards and undercupboards. –
