This new format aims at creating a space at the GCSC to which doctoral candidates can bring their questions regarding teaching. As such, it can, on the one hand, be understood as a follow up to the „Introduction to Basic Didactic Principles“ of the IPP workshop series and the questions that have emerged ever since. On the other hand, this café is directed at all GCSC-members and at students who have just started their PhD journey, wondering how to approach the vast field of didactics in cultural studies. Precisely this mix of disciplinary perspectives and experiences will turn this format into what we hope will be a vibrant laboratory for different approaches and ideas! After a short input by Prof. Ivo Steininger on the topic of the didactic transformation, the participants will exchange with each other through different formats and, finally, advisory slots will provide participants with the opportunity to ask individual questions regarding teaching. The success and use of this format depends on you, so we are looking forward to seeing you!
Many offerings of the Teaching Centre can be credited as working units in the basic certificate “Kompetenz für professionelle Hochschullehre” (Competencies for Professional University Teaching) of the Hochschuldidaktisches Netzwerk Mittelhessen (HDM).
