The conference was organised by the former speakers and members of Research Area 1: Cultural Memory Studies , part of the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) at Justus Liebig University Giessen: Mortada Haidar, Katharina Hacker, Tatiana Quintero, Anjuli Trautmann, Anna Ivanova, Henning Tauche, Emilio Aguas Rodriguez.
The GCSC is an interdisciplinary graduate centre at the Justus-Liebig University in Giessen, where international doctoral candidates, post-doctoral members, and visiting scholars conduct concept-based study of culture and organise events related to their work on concepts
