About the GGN

The Giessen Graduate Center for Natural Sciences and Psychology (GGN) is a central, interdepartmental institution of the Justus Liebig University Giessen and was founded in August 2022 with funding from the “Hessische Hochschulpakt, Profilbudget A”. The opening event took place on July 3, 2023.

The GGN is open to all PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and advanced Master students in the fields of mathematics & computer science, physics, geography, biology, chemistry, psychology and sports science.

The aim of the GGN is to provide the best possible support for early career researchers in the natural sciences.

We offer an attractive doctoral training program consisting of high-quality subject-specific, interdisciplinary and extracurricular qualification opportunities and provide support in all matters relating to the doctoral thesis and further career planning. We promote the development of networks and participation in career-enhancing research stays and conference trips.

We form an interdisciplinary network for exchange and qualification and thus promote an attractive research environment for young scientists and a cooperative, interdisciplinary doctoral culture in the natural sciences.
