Tutor Qualification - Managing Conflict

Content

In interpersonal situations, one has to deal with different opinions, views or perceptions. This can be a source of conflict. In this workshop, we will look at conflicts and find out how to prevent them and/or deal with them productively. We will categorize different types of conflicts according to their severity and "heat". In addition, participants will have the opportunity to share and reflect on their experiences with academic conflict and talk about strategies and methods for dealing with such situations.

Intended learning goals

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

• Conflict management: definition of the term
• Be able to analyze types and levels of conflict.
• Conflict prevention: know strategies for dealing with conflicts
• Know and be able to apply steps and methods for conflict resolution
• Be able to reflect on one's own behavior in conflicts
