Composition of the study programme

The degree programme is composed of 20 modules:

  • 8 core (compulsory) modules (6 CP each)
  • 8 profile (elective) modules (6 CP each)
  • a written Master's thesis (equivalent to 4 modules).

Half of the course modules are compulsory (core modules), the other half can be chosen from the entire range of courses offered by the department and partly from other departments of JLU Giessen (profile modules).

 

Specialisation is possible by choosing the profile modules. The degree programme is successfully completed when all modules have been passed.

  • Molecular Animal Breeding and Biotechnology
  • Breeding value estimation and breeding planning
  • Animal justice, animal welfare and animal protection in farm animal husbandry
  • Performance and stress physiology
  • Agricultural technology
  • Animal nutrition, product quality and environment
  • Special nutritional physiology
