Workshop with Dr. Stephan Engelkamp

The TANNRE project was part of the workshop on critical norm research in International Relations, organized by the GGS section "Norms and Changes in Global Politics". The section was happy to welcome Dr. Stephan Engelkamp (King’s College London, Department of War Studies) as a guest speaker and commentator.

After a preliminary lecture by Dr. Engelkamp on the state of critical norm research, four ongoing research projects were discussed. The TANNRE research team presented a paper on the theoretical frame of the project. The team is very grateful for the useful feedback from Dr. Engelkamp and the workshop participants.

After the two panel slots, the three TANNRE research assistants were given the opportunity to introduce their ideas for their individual dissertation projects. The workshop ended with a lecture by Dr. Engelkamp on “IR/Responsibility? The limits of normative acting in international politics and the problem of answering the other one”.
