Your Request

The use of digital media in university teaching offers many advantages for lecturers and students - but often also raises new questions for lecturers: What possibilities do I have to support my teaching with digital media? Which legal aspects do I have to consider? Which tools and which methods are best suited for my teaching situation, my target group and my learning/teaching goals? How much time and effort does the use of a particular tool require - and what are the benefits for me and my students?
These are just a few of the questions you (have to) deal with if you want to use digital media in your teaching.
With the E-Learning Lunch Bag Session, we would like to offer you regular opportunities from the winter semester 2018/19 onwards to clarify these and other questions in exchange with colleagues, to share your own experiences and to develop new ideas together with other participants.

Our Service

The E-Learning Lunch Bag Session was set up to give you the opportunity to exchange all your questions and experiences about the use of digital media in university teaching in a relaxed atmosphere. The staff of the "Lehre 4.0" project will be on hand to advise and assist you.

The offer is intended to support you in...
...constructively use of digital media in university teaching.
...realistically assessing the advantages and disadvantages as well as the costs and benefits of using special e-learning tools.
... reflecting and conceiving e-learning/blended learning scenarios together in exchange with (interdisciplinary) colleagues - and applying ideas from different subject areas to your own teaching practice if necessary.

E-Peer-Feedback: Peer feedback is a method to support independent learning and means the written or oral feedback/evaluation or assessment between persons of the same status (students). E-peer feedback is the term used as soon as the procedure is supported electronically or digitally. The JLU offers various possibilities and tools on ILIAS for the electronic support of peer feedback procedures. We will discuss what these tools look like, where I can find them, how I can use them and integrate them into my course in a meaningful way and what advantages they offer me and my students - in the upcoming Lunch Bag Session we will navigate you in the direct application of them.

Scanner-Exam, E-Exam & E-Test: By e-examinations we refer to computer-aided examinations, whereas scanner-examinations are supported electronically via software in the preparation and evaluation. E-tests, on the other hand, are internet-based self-assessment tools that can be used as learning guides, access and placement tests or for self-study in university teaching. At the JLU, e-exams and e-tests can be created and applied on ILIAS. Software solutions such as "Fred" and "Klaus" are available for scanner examinations. We present various forms of electronically and/or digitally supported examination formats, show their practical application to ILIAS and discuss when it is useful to integrate e-examination formats into university teaching.

Electronically and digitally supported voting systems offer the opportunity to actively involve students in the course. JLU already uses numerous hardware- or web-based systems for this. At this LBS in February, we will dedicate ourselves to the live voting and voting tools on ILIAS and test the web-based voting system Pingo on site. In addition, we will talk about possible application scenarios in university teaching.

Didaktik Café meets Lunch Bag Session - Teaching and learning with tablets. As multifunctional all-rounders, iPad and Co. have also reached university teaching. The practical and intuitively usable devices are intended to open up new didactic perspectives. The project " Lehren und Lernen mit Tablets " supports teachers who want to use tablets in their courses with didactic impulses and teaching concepts and provides information on the technical aspects and special features of tablet use. In addition, a selection of apps is shown that can be used in a variety of ways in teaching. Lukas Härter from the HRZ project " Lehren und Lernen mit Tablets" will be our guest.

The meeting takes place at the ZfbK, Karl-Glöckner-Str. 5a, 35394 Gießen, room 108.
