HDK | Didaktik Café: The project "Teaching 4.0"

Your Concern

Complementing university teaching through digital media is still not a matter of course for many lecturers. There are multiple reasons for that. The project "Teaching 4.0" should start here and specifically support (teaching) junior scientists to use didactically meaningful digital media in their teaching. For this purpose, existing support and further training offers should be made transparent and supplemented.

The project "Teaching 4.0 - E-Learning for Young Researchers" is a joint project between the University Computing Center (HRZ), the Giessen Graduate Center for Social, Legal and Economic Sciences (GGS), the International Graduate Center for Study of Culture (GCSC / GGK), the International Giessen Graduate Center for Life Sciences (GGL) and the Center for Foreign Language and Vocational Competence (ZfbK).

In order to obtain an estimate of the needs of the teachers, an extensive needs assessment was carried out in May 2018. We would like to introduce you to the results of this survey - in which you may have participated yourself - as part of the didactics café. In doing so, we also examine the implications of the survey for the further course of action of the project and present the current support and continuing education offers on the topic of "Digitization in higher education". We look forward to a lively discussion.

In many didactic workshops, the "breaks" in which one can informally exchange ideas with the colleagues are rated as particularly fruitful. We would like to respond to this need with the format of the "didactic café": in an informal setting, all interested teachers are invited to benefit from the shared exchange of experience. The appointment is deliberately during the lunch break: you are welcome to bring your lunch, we provide hot drinks and sweets on our part.
