On December 2 and 3, 2019, the TANNRE project joined the Annual Conference of the Giessen Graduate Centre for Social Sciences, Economics and Law (GGS) entitled “Beyond Western Liberalism: Mapping Blind Spots in IR Norms Research” at Justus Liebig University.

As part of the Panel “Politics and Institution”, the research assistant Magdalena Tanzer presented the paper “Politicized discourses on sustainable agriculture: Comparing norm understandings of international organizations” on December 3. The detailed conference program and further information can be found here.

The conference is organized by the GGS section “Norms and Changes in Global Politics” (University of Giessen) in cooperation with the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg, the Institute of Political Science (University of Duisburg-Essen) and the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF). The two-day event is part of a workshop series of the DVPW thematic group “IR Norms Research” within the DVPW section “International Politics”. The conference is the launching event to a number of follow-on workshops in 2019 and 2020 organized by the cooperation partners.
