For Foreign Students:

Alfred-Toepfer-Stiftung F.V.S.

The Alfred-Toepfer-Stiftung was founded in 1931 by the Hamburg merchant and farmer Alfred C. Toepfer as 'Stiftung F.V.S. zu Hamburg'.
The scholarship of the Alfred-Toepfer-Stiftung is important for students in their last academic year.
The Alfred-Toepfer-Stiftung promotes as well the last steps of a study as postgraduate studies and graduations. The scholarship of the foundation includes mostly a one-year promotion for under 30-years old students from Central and Eastern Europe Countries who plan to finish their study in Germany.
Also german students can apply for promotion of a one-year study visit in Central and Eastern Europe Countries.

Friedrich-Ebert Stiftung

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung is one of the biggest and oldest foundations in Germany. It is based in Bonn, the former capital of Germany. Today, the most important role of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung is to support the political and social education which is based on democracy and pluralism for people of all areas of life, to offer young and highly skilled people the entry for a scholarship and to contribute to international agreements and co-operations.

Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung

The Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung supports high-qualified students with a special sponsorship. The Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung expects from their scholarship holders among distinguished professional performs also political and social commitments and positive personal qualities, like reliability, motivation and decisiveness.

Haniel Stiftung

The Haniel-Stiftung was founded in 1988 as a non-profit foundation under private law of the Franz Haniel & Cie. GmbH in Duisburg, Germany. In 2001, the scholarship programs of the Haniel Stiftung were added by the programs with focus for people of Central and Eastern Europe Countries  e.g. 'Go West – Europäisches Masterstudium & Praktikum' and 'Go East – Studium und Praktikum'. These programs support junior staffs from Central and Eastern European Countries who want to participate in a one-or-two-years-limited postgraduate study at a german university.

Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung e.V.

The Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung supports students and postgraduates of all faculties and nationalities in all Universities or Universities of Applied Sciences, in all federal states of Germany.

Hertie-Stiftung

The non-profit foundation 'Hertie-Stiftung' is one of the biggest private ones in Germany. The annual delivery volume by 20 million Euros arises from the funds of Georg Karg, the founder of the foundation who died in 1972, whose assets reached the top of 820 Million €. Today, the Foundation´s Chairman is Michael Endres a former member of executive committee of Deutsche Bank.

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung

The Society for Christian-Democratic Education was founded in 1955 under Bruno Heck and changed its name in Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in 1964. The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung supports political education and also the European Unity on national and international levels and furthermore arts and culture. The foundation supports talented students and postgraduates with scholarships. It also documents and explores the historical development of the christian-democratic movement.

Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung

The Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung Gesellschaftsanalyse und Politische Bildung e.V. (RLS) is a foundation which is closely related to the german left-wing party 'Die Linke'. It is focussed on political education. The primarily club has its origins in the association 'Verein Gesellschaftsanalyse und politische Bildung e.V.'  and was registered two years later as an official club, affiliated to the PDS (the former name of The Leftparty). In Germany, it cooperates with other left-oriented political associations and foundations.

For German Students:

Deutsche Geisteswissenschaftliche Institute im Ausland (DGIA)

The foundation 'Deutsche Geisteswissenschaftliche Institute im Ausland' (DGIA), with legal capability, is based in Bonn and was established on the 1st July 2002 by the German Bundestag.
DGIA awards Gerald D. Feldman Travel Aids on german humanists for one year.
With the travel aids the job-related chances and opportunities for outstanding, international-orientated humanists should be improved. Annually, the Peters-Beer-Stiftung awards aids in a two-years-limited program on six scientists supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
