The Sustainability Hub "Enjoy Sustainably: Local Approaches to Sustainable Nutrition" is an event organised by the Centre for Sustainable Food Systems (ZNE) and the Office for Sustainability at JLU Giessen. The aim of the event is to promote the discussion about the possibilities, challenges and opportunities of sustainable nutrition. The event is open to all members of JLU and the interested public. It is intended to actively facilitate dialogue between science, politics and society.
From 15:00 o'clock, the ‘Market of Opportunities’ will take place, where regional players and JLU research projects will be presented. This platform offers the opportunity to network and exchange ideas. After the opening and program presentation by Prof. Dr. Ramona Teuber, Speaker of the ZNE Board, and Dr. Alexandra Jungert, Head of the Office for Sustainability, various perspectives on the topic of ‘Local approaches to sustainable nutrition’ will be presented in impulse talks:
- Prof. Dr. Andreas Gattinger will talk about sustainable food production and about the Gladbacherhof as a research platform (Chair of Organic Farming, JLU/ZNE).
- Prof. Dr. Stefan Wahlen will discuss sustainable consumption and food democracy (Chair of Sociology of Nutrition, JLU/ZNE).
-
Prof. Dr. Sandra Schwindenhammer will present the topic ‘Socio-political dynamics and the involvement of social actors in sustainable food systems - the joint project SUSKULT’ (Chair of Social Science Sustainability Research with a focus on sustainable food systems, JLU/ZNE).
-
Dr. Christina Weber presents ‘Female Founders & Food Start-Ups Promotion for the Region’ (Project Coordination for Food Entrepreneurship & Start-Ups (FESU), JLU/ZNE).
-
Prof. Dr. Christian Herzig talks about ‘Social innovations need food ecosystems’ (Chair of Food Business and Agribusiness, JLU/ZNE).
- Phillip Kaapke will share his experiences on the topic of food start-ups (co-founder of the food start-up Revoja).
In a subsequent fishbowl discussion, participants from the audience will also have the opportunity to actively contribute to the exchange of opinions.
