Dr. Žilvinas Kleiva

DVM PhD Žilvinas Kleiva, Deputy Director and Chief Veterinarian of the Lithuanian Sea Museum, whose daily routine is veterinary care of marine mammals and birds under human management as well as their disease prevention. Research interests focus on diseases, behaviour, and welfare of marine mammals.

In the MARRES Project, his role includes biological sampling of rehabilitated seals, water sampling in Lithuanian waters, forwarding to and communication with the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences.

Laura Lupeikaitė

Laura Lupeikaitė is a senior biologist at the Lithuanian Sea Museum and a PhD student at the University of Klaipeda. Her work is mainly related to the welfare of marine species under human care, with a scientific focus on remote monitoring of rehabilitated seals and their behavioural studies using biotelemetric methods. 

In the framework of the MARRES Project, she will contribute to the biological sampling of rehabilitated seals and water sampling in Lithuanian waters.

Jurgita Eglinskienė

Project Coordinator in the Lithuania Sea Museum since 2005. The list of the projects she has been involved as a project manager or coordinator includes INTERREG, South Baltic Programme and other cross-border cooperation programmes, ICT Policy Support Programme, EEA and Norway Grants supported projects.  Participation in projects provided her with much of opportunities to get new knowledge and gain experience in different fields, while working in an international team has always been highly motivating.
