Prof. Dr. Modestas Ružauskas Prof. Dr. Modestas Ružauskas, principal investigator of the Microbiology and Virology Institute, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences is a microbiologists working in the field of veterinary bacteriology. He has and expertise on isolation and identification of pathogenic bacteria using different methods of classical and molecular microbiology. M. Ruzauskas is also an expert in the field of antimicrobial resistance. His group of the researchers have implemented different national project associated with molecular epidemiology of resistant bacteria in domestic and wild animals, freshwater fish and soil. In MARRES project Prof. Dr. Modestas Ružauskas is responsible for isolation, identification and susceptibility testing of bacteria from grey seals and sea water samples. The data obtained will be a part of data generated by three partnering countries for the obtaining new knowledge about the role of marine ecosystems on potential spread of antimicrobial resistance from One Health perspective. |
