B5: The role of the Notch signaling pathway in the interplay between pulmonary fibrosis and bronchial carcinoma (Prof. Borggrefe, Prof. Günther)
Subproject B5 investigates the influence of the organ microenvironment in lung fibrosis on invasive and metastatic properties of lung tumor stem cells. The focus here is on alterations in the Notch signalling pathway of tumor stem cells, which are correlated with chromatin and gene expression changes. The resulting new therapeutic intervention strategies are tested in PCLS (tissue slice cultures), organoid and mouse models.
