Doctoral and postdoctoral researchers with family (plans) and all interested parties at the universities of Mittelhessen

Are you an (international) researcher planning a family, currently pregnant, or already a parent?
This event informs you about the various support systems, rights, and responsibilities related to family planning and pregnancy in Germany, with a specific focus on the services and resources available at JLU.
The session will cover important topics such as maternity leave (Mutterschutz), parental leave (Elternzeit), parental allowance (Elterngeld), and childcare options. You will also learn about the legal framework surrounding pregnancy and family life, ensuring you understand your entitlements and obligations. Join us to get valuable insights into the benefits and services available to families and how to navigate these systems effectively.

Speaker
Anastasiia Marsheva is a Doctoral Candidate and member of the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC).
Dr. Michael Streuber is a Postdoc Coordinator and member at the International Giessen Graduate Centre for the Life Sciences (GGL) and father of 4 kids.
Both are part of an alliance of four graduate centers GGK/GCSC, GGL, GGN, and GGS, the International Office, the Career Service at JLU, and the Research Campus Central Hessen—regularly organize workshops, panel discussions, brown bag sessions, and other events each semester dedicated to the topic of balancing family responsibilities, such as caring for children and relatives in need of care, with an academic career.
