With the ever increasing power of digital computing at our disposal, researchers are nowadays capable of statistical testing and sampling on previously unimaginable scales and levels of sophistication. As data grows larger and more complex, researchers need to become even more capable at communicating the results of their work in a meaningful, comprehensible way.
One facet of this is data visualization, the craft of rendering complex data into clear, readable, comprehensible and striking graphics. But how do we choose the right option out of the myriad of available graphs? What makes a 'good graph' versus and a bad one?
In this workshop, you will learn how to answer these questions, how to choose, comprehend and design graphs using the statistical software R and its ggplot2 package.
Please note that this course is aimed at researchers who already possess basic knowledge about statistics and methods as well as a basic understanding of how to use the statistics software R (e.g., computing regression analysis, t-tests, distributions, frequentist statistics).
If you lack this knowledge, you can do the following courses on Datacamp: Introduction to the Tidyverse (Dplyr): Chapter 1 (Data wrangling) & 3 (Grouping and summarizing).
