Career Key: Publishing and Peer Review
With this programme, which is funded by the Ideenwettbewerb Frauenförderung at JLU, the GGS aims to promote the visibility and career success of women* in academia. It is therefore aimed at female* postdocs and advanced doctoral students at the GGS who are aspiring to a career in academia. Below you will find information on the objectives and individual activities of the programme.
Career Key: Publishing and Peer Review
The publication process, from publication to peer review, is a central key to networking within the scientific community as well as to quality assurance and discourse in academia. However, there is still an imbalance in the gender ratio within the publication market.
In order to promote women in academia and thus contribute not only to gender balance but also to a diversification of academic discourse, this programme supports female doctoral candidates and postdocs on their way to the English publication market. Three workshops will explain the special features of the English publication market, give you important tips to help you navigate it with confidence and train you in structuring your English publication. In addition, a Meet the Expert session will give you practical insight into the publication process while providing you the opportunity to ask questions to an experienced insider.
Lastly, in order to support women in gaining a foothold in the English publication market, we award financial support to cover editing, proofreading, translation and publication fees for English-language publications through a publication fund.
Full attendance of all these formats is not mandatory but highly encouraged as the programme is designed to give a holistic view of the publication process and market.
Meet the Expert Session
Theory is important, but fine adjustments are usually needed in practice. To give you an all-round view of the publication process, we are inviting an expert who will share their knowledge about the intricacies of the publication process and market.
Information about the speaker and date of the session will follow shortly.
