Gerade erschienen: ”Heiner Goebbels and Curatorial Composing after Cage. From Staging Works to Musicalising Encounters”

Author Ed McKeon introduces Prof. Heiner Goebbels’ practice and focus on his role as Artistic Director of the Ruhrtriennale (2012–14), which he argues was an extension of his curatorial composing. In this work Ed McKeon wants ”to underscore a distinction between ’music’ and ’the musical’ – or ’musicality’ – to acknowledge that the latter is not dependent on the former, and that compositional forms can be manifest without sound, in ’non-musical’ mediums such as video installations or watercolours, and especially in the construction of encounters.”
