Semester Contributions

The semester contributions for the winter semester 2022/2023 for

  • first enrolment and
  • rematriculation

have changed. 

This is included in the semester contributions (international students on official exchange programmes/schemes do not have to pay the administrative fee, thus the contribution for these students is € 50.00 less than for home students):

€ 296.90 for first enrolment in the winter semester 2022/2023:

€ 136.95 semester ticket: RMV € 128.99, NVV € 7.96
€     7.50 contribution for the student body
€   83.70 contribution for the Studentenwerk/student services
€   50.00 administrative fee
€   15.00 deposit for the electronic student ID card

€     1.50 ticket for the Giessen municipal theatre
€     2.25 bike rental system

€ 281,90 for rematriculation for the winter semester 2022/2023:

€ 136.95 semester ticket: RMV € 128.99, NVV € 7.96
€     7.50 contribution for the student body

Please note that, regarding the master’s degree program Sustainable Transition (fully digital), the semester fee includes only parts of the above amounts. It adds up to only € 99.35 (€ 41.85 for the  student union (“Studentenwerk“), € 50 administrative fee and € 7.50 for the student body), which must be paid upon enrollment or re-registration in this program.

There are no tuition fees in Hessen! You only have to pay the above-mentioned semester contributions.
