DGS 2014: 88th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Mammalian Biology in Gießen # Fritz-Frank-Award for Dr. Nina Becker # New publications from the Mammalian Ecology group # Certificate: “Animal research on wildlife”

The 88th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Mammalian Biology (DGS 2014) will take place from 1st-4th September 2014 at the Justus-Liebig University of Gießen.

The conference will be hosted by the Mammalian Ecology Group and focus on "Mammalian Ecology Research: Interrelations, Requirements & Habitats".

We would like to congratulate Nina to the Fritz-Frank-Award 2013 of the German Society for Mammalian Biology!

Dr. Nina Becker won the Fritz-Frank-Award 2013 for her dissertation Regulatory mechanisms of the energy budget in bats. She will present her excellent research at the annual Meeting of the German Society for Mammalian Biology in Prague.

New Certificate: “Animal research on wildlife”

This certificate serves to proof the expertise and competence for animal research (§ 9 Abs. 1 German Animal Protection Law) for the responsible permit authorities. This expertise course is conducted at the Department of Animal Ecology & Systematics (Mammalian Ecology Group) in consultation with the Hessian Regional Administrative Council and the animal welfare officer of the JLU.
