The JLU has a varied history. In the course of more than 400 years since its founding in 1607, the university has grown from a small scale college to a large scale research university with a broad range of study programs and fields of excellence.

Campus Districts - Department of Chemistry

The campus of the JLU spreads all over Giessen – the city is the campus and vice versa. The Department of Chemistry is part of the natural sciences campus, in the “Heinrich-Buff-Ring” (called “Natur- und Lebenswissenschaften” in German).
