Lilli von Stengel

Lilli von Stengel is a doctoral candidate at the International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC) at the University of Giessen and works as a research assistant at the Center for Diversity, Media, and Law (DiML). In her dissertation, supervised by Prof. Dr. Greta Olson, Lilli focuses on cultural and individual trauma narratives surrounding #MeToo in the US. She pays particular attention to the relationship between testimony, circulation, and digitality. The working title of her dissertation is "#MeToo: Cultural Narratives and Digital Trauma".
She obtained her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Munich, and St. Anne's College, University of Oxford. Following this, she specialized in trauma and feminist studies at the University of Hamburg with a Master of Arts (M.A.) in British and American Cultures: Text and Media. In between and during her studies, Lilli worked in PR and science communication with a focus on sustainability and digital media studies.
