Reading Group ‘Postmigration Studies’

The reading group is dedicated to the central key texts of the recent debates on Postmigration in the Humanities, in particular the German Studies, Literary and Culture Studies as well as the Social sciences and Migration Studies. More and more publications are appearing on the subject and the buzzword postmigration which seems to follow the louder becoming call for a postmigrant turn in the humanities. Others even urge for a separate discipline of German Postmigrant Studies with a distinct postmigrant culture history, art and intervention practices and literary expression of postmigrant experiences in Germany. This reading group attempts to step into the evolving field of Postmigrant Studies and explores through critical reading and discussion not only the central themes and issues, but also experiences and knowledges of various postmigrant generations in Germany.
