DSH
German Language Examination for Student Applicants
As a rule, if you are a student and do not possess a German College/University Entrance Certificate (Abitur) and wish to enrol at JLU Giessen, you must show that you have sufficient knowledge of the German language to successfully pursue a course of study. Proof of this is usually obtained by passing the DSH German language examination.
The JLU offers the DSH twice a year (before the summer and winter semester). The examination fee is 140€ (which includes a one-week examination training).
To find out whether or not you need to take the DSH exam and for information on other preconditions pertaining to study at JLU click here.
Once you have received your confirmation of acceptance to JLU or THM, you can register here (until Feb 26, 2023) for the DSH exam at JLU within 10 days after having received your letter of acceptance.
You will get an email directly after having submitted your online application. This important email contains all necessary information for the DSH exam (e.g. account number for transferring the fees, acceptance to the DSH as well as how to sit the exam and how to prepare for the exam).
