The DFG is continuing its support services for refugee researchers (as of 5 February 2025).

DAAD: Supporting At-risk Researchers with Fellowships in Europe (SAFE)
In the EU-funded ‘Supporting At-risk Researchers with Fellowships in Europe’ (SAFE) programme, 60 grants for doctoral students and researchers were announced for a period of up to 24 months. The application for a maximum of one person was submitted by the university management and was coordinated at JLU by the International Office in the AAA5 department.

DAAD: Hilde Domin-Programme
The Hilde Domin Programme aims to support students at risk worldwide and doctoral candidates who are formally or de facto denied the right to education in their country of origin to take up or continue their studies in Germany in order to obtain a degree or doctorate at a German university.

HessenFonds for Refugees and Persecuted Persons
The Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Arts and Culture (HMWK) provides scholarships at Hessian state universities as part of the ‘HessenFonds für Geflüchtete und Verfolgte - hochqualifizierte Studierende, Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler’ (Hesse Fund for Refugees and Persecuted People - Highly Qualified Students and Academics).

Alexander von Humboldt Foundation: Philipp Schwartz Initiative
Justus Liebig University is host to at-risk academics who are sponsored with a scholarship as part of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's Philipp Schwartz Initiative.
