Description: This professional development module covers a broad range of practical skills relevant to Humanities knowledge presentation and application in the digital age, tailored to the needs of working in a museum and in the heritage sector more broadly. The sessions will introduce to the institutional and technological frameworks within which digital curation takes place. Zooming in on the ancient Greek and Roman exhibits of the exhibition Group Displays in the University’s ancient art collection (opening in Autumn 2020) the students will develop, in guided activities, interactive elements on individual objects to guide visitors in the description, analysis, and interpretation of those objects. The module assessment will give students the opportunity to create a portfolio that might find use in follow-on work in the heritage sector.
Date/Time: asynchronous, intermittent video-conferences throughout the semester (normally scheduled for Mondays, 04.00 – 05.00pm CET)
