Support for Early-Career Researchers

The systematic support of early-career researchers is a central concern at JLU. The Staff Division Research (and Graduate Studies) therefore coordinates measures to support, develop, and retain researchers in the early stages of their careers.

In addition to targeted advice on third-party funding opportunities, the Staff Division oversees various internal funding programs—including graduate scholarships, research grants, and the Just’us postdoctoral program.

In cooperation with the faculties and other university units, the Science Support Network coordinates support services, particularly for first-time applications by early-career researchers to funding organizations.

Researchers receive answers and support for the following questions, among others:

  • Which funding opportunities are available during the qualification phase—particularly for postdocs in the early stages of their careers?
  • How do I find the appropriate third-party funding for my project, and what should I consider during the application process?
  • Which internal JLU funding programs are available for my research project?
  • How does the Science Support Network support me in preparing applications and networking within JLU?
