Eligibility
Early career researchers with a PhD (i.e. postdoctoral researchers on R2-R3 level) from all departments and scientific centres of JLU are eligible. Additionally, postdocs must be employed on state funded positions or in the context of an ongoing third-party funded project. Scholarship holders and fellows affiliated with JLU are also eligible to apply if the duration of the scholarship/fellowship covers the funding period of the research grant. The applicant's position or sponsoring must be secured for the duration of the Early Career Researcher Grant, which is a maximum of 6 months until max. 31.10.2025.
At the time of application, the PhD should not have been completed more than 8 years ago; there is no upper age limit for applicants. Periods of parental or care leave will be taken into account[1]. Postdocs and fellows from the humanities, cultural and social sciences are particularly encouraged to apply.
[1] Parental leave for children born in the 8 years prior to application will be credited according to the Marie Curie guidelines for postdoctoral researchers (cp, Work Programme, p. 90, note 89).
