Requirements

Requirements Psychology (B.Sc.)

A valid university entrance qualification (German: HZB) is required for admission to the program.

  • From Germany: General university entrance qualification (= Abitur or equivalent), vocational university entrance qualification, master craftsman’s certificate, university entrance qualification for professionally qualified individuals.
  • From abroad: You can find out whether the university entrance qualification from your home country qualifies you for direct admission to a degree program in Germany on the information portal for the recognition of foreign educational qualifications (anabin).

Proof of an internship (pre-internship) is not required for admission.

Applicants with a foreign university entrance qualification should also note the required proof of German language proficiency.

Selection Procedure

  1. The application for admission may be accompanied by proof of the result of the Psychology-Specific Bachelor’s Student Aptitude Test administered by the German Psychological Society (BaPsy-DGPs), which is conducted by TransMIT GmbH, Centre for Scientific Psychological Services, in accordance with its ‘Regulations for the Application of the BaPsy-DGPs’ dated 27 January 2023, as amended on 1 October 2025 (published at www.studieneignungstest-psychologie.de) or one of the previous versions.
  2. The ranking of applicants is determined by a score calculated as the sum of the marks for the university entrance qualification, the marks for the BaPsy-DGPs, and, where applicable, any additional marks in accordance with paragraph 5.
  3. The marks for the BaPsy-DGPs correspond to the percentage rank achieved in that examination, expressed as a whole number.
  4. The score for the university entrance qualification grade is determined by the following table:
  5. In addition, applicants will receive
    a) 3 points for having completed work in accordance with Article 8 Paragraph 3 (1) to (5) of the State Treaty and 
    b) 5 points for having completed at least two years of vocational training,
    up to a maximum of 8 points in total.
