Forschung

 

Die Arbeitsgruppe von Herrn PD Dr. Hain beschäftigt sich mit der funktionellen Genomanalyse pathogener Bakterien. Hierunter fällt auch der Schwerpunkt der genomweiten Analyse von kleinen nicht-kodierenden RNAs und deren Rolle in der Genregulation bei grampositiven Bakterien. Sie konzentriert sich dabei auf das humanpathogene Bakterium Listeria monocytogenes als Modellorganismus mit einem systembiologisch ausgerichteten Ansatz. Herr PD Dr. Hain arbeitet auf den Gebieten der komparativen Genomik, Transkriptomik und Metagenomik und setzt „Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)“ als integralen Bestandteil seiner Arbeit ein. Darüber hinaus verfügt die Arbeitsgruppe über umfassende Expertise auf dem Gebiet der funktionellen Genanalyse bzgl. Wirt-Pathogen-Interaktion und in der komparativen Genomik von Listerien. Herr PD Dr. Hain kann auf eine langjährige Erfahrung auf den Arbeitsgebieten der Pathogenomik und molekularen Mikrobiologie mit den Schwerpunkten bakterielle und virale Genomsequenzierungen, SigB-Regulon, universelle Stressproteine oder intrazelluläres Überleben von Listerien im infizierten Wirt wie auch genomische Epidemiologie durch NGS bzw. mikrobielle Bioinformatik zurückblicken.
