Advisory and support at the CLAS

Header Beratung und Unterstützung

Advisory and support during the degree programme

The CLAS would like to support its students at every stage of their studies. For this purpose, we offer open consultation hours, status talks by appointment and various workshops and events.

The support provided by the CLAS does not just involve clarifying your questions and helping you with challenges. We also want to involve you in the development of the degree programme and take your feedback very seriously.

Open consultation hours

During open consultation hours, you can drop by without an appointment or give us a call. Alternatively, after a short phone call, we can also hold counselling sessions via video call.

Please find Sarah Homberger for open consultation hours in the main building of JLU, Ludwigstraße 23, 35390 Giessen in room 104 at the following times:

  • Mondays: 02:00 pm - 04:00 pm
  • Wednesdays: 10:00 am - 11:00 am

On request, digital counselling appointments can also be arranged during this consultation schedule.

Status talks

With a status talk, we offer you a strutured advisory. We will discuss various questions together, for example:

  • How is your degree programme going?
  • What do you have questions about?
  • What do you need help with?
  • What should your degree programme look like for you personally?
  • What are your wishes or goals?

If you are interested in a status meeting, please make an appointment with Sarah Homberger (Sarah.homberger; Tel.: 0641 99 12162).

Mentoring - Support from students to students

Together with the students of the degree programme, we want to develop a mentoring programme in which students can support each other, exchange experiences and clarify questions at student level.

If you are a Liberal Arts & Sciences student and are interested in participating in such a programme, please contact sarah.homberger.

Subject-specific support within the subject tracks

In addition to the general support provided by the CLAS, you can also receive subject-specific support from the teaching staff and those responsible for the module and subject tracks.

An overview of contact persons can be found here.
