From 13–16 January 2026, the European PhDnet in Literary and Cultural Studies held the Induction Week for its 7th PhDnet cohort. This introductory event combined academic exchange, skills training, and community-building.
Doctoral presentations, workshops on academic communication, writing, and publishing, and introductions to the partner institutions laid a strong foundation for the cohort’s collaborative work. But above all, the informal conversations with peers, alumni, and faculty stood out as an important aspect of this introductory event — a reminder that the strength of the PhDnet lies in the relationships it fosters. The new cohort brings together scholars from across all our partner universities: Justus Liebig University Giessen, Stockholm University, the University of Helsinki, the University of Warwick, the Catholic University of Lisbon Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), the University of Bergamo Università degli Studi di Bergamo, and the University of Graz. Now entering its second decade, the European PhDnet continues to stand as a pioneering model in European doctoral education. For more than 18 years, the network has supported sustained international collaboration and accompanied over 45 doctoral researchers in Literary and Cultural Studies. With the 7th cohort officially launched, we look forward to three years of joint research, intellectual exchange, and academic growth. Our work in the PhDnet continues — and its future remains firmly collaborative. |
