If you have asked yourself these questions before, come to the event "Wege in die Promotion".
In order to make it easier for future doctoral candidates to start their doctoral studies and to inspire those interested in a doctorate, the three Giessen Graduate Centres GGS, GGK/GCSC, GGL, GGN, the ArbeiterKind. de initiative and the Forschungscampus Mittelhessen (FCMH) invite students from all faculties to the event "Wege in die Promotion".
The event will take place on 25 June 2026 from 1:00 pm (c.t.) to approx. 4:30 pm in JLU-Main Building, Ludwigstraße 23. During the event, the Giessen Graduate Centers, the ArbeiterKind.de initiative and the Forschungscampus Mittelhessen will provide information about doctoral requirements, funding opportunities, opportunities to start a doctorate and will present support offers for doctoral candidates at JLU.
After a general introduction to the topic, interested parties will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with contact persons from the above-mentioned institutions in an info lounge and subsequent separate sessions.

- 13.00 - 13.45 Uhr: Welcome, plenary lecture (part 1) on key issues surrounding doctoral studies
- 13.45 - 14.00 Uhr: Break
- 14.00 - 14.45 Uhr: Plenary lecture (Part 2) on issues of doctoral funding and support in Central Hesse
- 14.45 - 15.15 Uhr: Testimonials from current doctoral candidates
- 15.15 - 16.30 Uhr: Info-Lounge with coffee, cookies and drinks in the foyer of the auditorium
