Fundamental Issues in Research

The Staff Division Research (StF) handles central fundamental issues of research at JLU—in close coordination with the faculties, the interdisciplinary research centers, and the relevant administrative units of the central administration.

A particular focus is placed on the regular evaluation of the scientific institutions and on supporting the target agreement processes in the field of research.

In addition, the Staff Division accompanies the strategic further development of JLU’s research profile. This specifically includes the structural strengthening of interdisciplinary key and potential areas as well as discipline-specific focus areas within the faculties.

The Staff Division Research deals, among other things, with the following questions:

  • Which research priorities distinguish JLU?
  • How can JLU’s research profile be further developed most effectively?
  • Which reporting obligations must be observed in the field of research?
  • How can JLU’s faculties be best supported in achieving the set research goals?
