Dr. Kathrin Eichstädt
Head of Lifecycle Management
After completing her diploma degree in biology at JLU Gießen, Kathrin completed her PhD-thesis in the institute of general botany, within the plant cell biology department of Prof. A.J.E. van Bel, focusing on the interaction of aphids, a plant virus and Hordeum vulgare on a protein level. During this time she was also part of the first generation of GGL students. After her PhD thesis, she started her career within the pharmaceutical industry in 2011 as Junior Manager Quality for Fresenius Kabi GmbH. Soon she headed a Quality Assurance department, in 2012 a Quality Unit, working on the launch of new generic products. In 2019 she joined CSL Behring GmbH as a director, to build up the new Product Lifecycle Management department. In this role Kathrin and her team are responsible to ensure timely launches of new products and GMP-compliant changes to continuously improve existing products during their lifecycle.
Dominik Florek, PhD.
Technical Documentation Specialist and Quality Management Co-supervisor
After finishing his Master degree in Biotechnology in Poland, he moved to Gießen to start a PhD at JLU. As a GGL member he took part in a number of quality management-based courses and company visitations, developing his knowledge and interest in the field of quality.
Following a short experience with a head-hunter company, Dominik Florek found employment at VIROTECH Diagnostics GmbH. After a 6-month-long qualifying period as a Technical Documentation Specialist, he was appointed to the position of Quality Management Co-Supervisor. Currently, Dominik Florek leads companywide regulatory projects.
Working motto: Do not focus on the problem, but on the solution.
Dr. Daniela Rahmel PRESENTATION CANCELLED
Head of Global Quality for Research and Development within Animal Health

After her studies of veterinary medicine at the TiHo Hannover, Daniela worked initially as a veterinarian in horse practice while performing her PhD. Afterwards, she worked 10 years in non-clinical research and development in different companies (Altana Pharma, Nycomed, Takeda) in Hamburg before she joined the Animal Health business of Boehringer Ingelheim in 2013 in clinical development. Since one year, Daniela is leading the Global Quality for Research and Development within Animal Health of Boehringer Ingelheim.
Her passion is to give her knowledge to others, develop talents, and attract students to pharma industry.
Dr. Marina Mangold
Freelancer - Data Management - Clinical Science
Dr. Marina Mangold studied biology, did her PhD in molecular microbiology and after this started her career in clinical research. She owns nowadays a small Contract Research Organisation specialized in services according to Clinical Data Management. The Customers are Pharmasponsors, Biotechs, Medicals initiating Clinical Trials and other CROs.
They offer an independent Data Management with a holistic view on Data, Data Integrity and the success of a study. They support in Sponsor Oversight during the lifetime of a study as well as hands-on Data Management work acting as the Lead Data Manager.
Tristan Herbold, M.Sc.
Director Entrepreneurship Cluster Mittelhessen

After completing a master's degree in business administration at JLU Giessen and working as a head in a personnel department, Tristan Herbold is currently managing director of the Entrepreneurship Cluster Mittelhessen (ECM). The ECM is the university's start-up center at JLU and supports more than 35,000 students and employees from all departments who are interested in setting up their own business.
Nurlan Dauletbayev, MD, PhD
Director, Translational Research Lab, Department of Internal Medicine, Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine

After graduation (1991) from a medical school in Kazakhstan, Dr. Nurlan Dauletbayev pursued a specialty training as an allergist and doctoral studies (1991-1995) in Medical Sciences in Moscow, Russia. He then combined his research postdoctoral training with specialty training in Respiratory Medicine in Frankfurt, Germany. He started at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where he rose from a Research Associate through Project Lead to Assistant Professor. While in Canada, Dr. Dauletbayev taught both at McGill University and the national Canadian Child Health Clinician Scientist Program.
In collaboration with his colleagues from al-Farabi Kazakh National University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Dr. Dauletbayev conceived and implemented an innovative “Physician-Scientist” training programme for practicing physicians in Kazakhstan.
As of May 2019, Dr. Nurlan Dauletbayev has returned to Germany to assume the post of Director of Translational Laboratory of the Department of Internal Medicine, Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, Philipps University of Marburg. He also holds positions of Adjunct Professor at McGill University and of Visiting Lecturer at al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
PD Dr. Daniela Fietz

PD Dr. Daniela Fietz completed her studies in veterinary medicine at JLU Gießen in 2006 and then began her doctoral thesis under the direction of Prof. Dr. S. Kölle in the Institute for Veterinary Anatomy, Histology and Embryology, JLU Gießen. Between 2011 and 2015 she was a postdoc in the working group of Prof. Dr. M. Bergmann and then got a position as academic counselor at the Institute for Veterinary Anatomy, Histology and Embryology, JLU Gießen. In 2017 she submitted her habilitation thesis on “Receptor and transporter expression for free and conjugated steroid hormones in normal and disturbed spermatogenesis” and was appointed private lecturer in the veterinary medicine department of JLU Gießen in 2018. Since 2019, she has also worked as a spokeswoman for GGL Section 6 “Reproduction of Men and Animals
