Simon Plösch

Research Associate & PhD Candidate

My name is Simon Plösch, and I am a PhD student in Prof. Hauschild’s group. I hold a background in Biological Sciences from the University of Münster and a Master’s degree in Biology from the University of Hamburg. My doctoral research is part of the GönomiX Research Training Group, which focuses on developmental gene function and gene regulatory networks across diverse genetic model systems.

My research centers on machine learning for cross-species transfer learning using multi-omics data. I investigate how insights from well-studied organisms can be leveraged to better understand less-characterized species, particularly in Wnt signalling. By integrating publicly available datasets with data generated within the GönomiX consortium, I develop computational models that enable cross-species prediction and functional annotation.
