Amedeo Viccari is a doctoral candidate at the University of Giessen and affiliated with the LEAD Graduate School & Research Network and the Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology at the University of Tübingen, where he has worked since February 2022. His PhD research focuses on innovative educational methods through Roman history. As part of this work, he developed Limes, a 2D top-down adventure game designed to foster academic learning, motivation, and intercultural empathy by combining historical storytelling with interactive gameplay. Before starting his PhD, Amedeo gained extensive experience in archaeology and geophysics. From 2017 to 2020, he worked in the UK as a commercial archaeologist, first with Wessex Archaeology and Archaeological Research Services, and later as a geophysical archaeologist at Magnitude Surveys in Bradford.
