Our Guesthouse

Since the 1960s, the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation has built a total of 67 guesthouses and International Meeting Centers for Science (IBZ) at 49 university locations throughout Germany.

Foreign guest researchers and their families can find suitable accommodation there for the duration of their research stay in Germany. The provision of suitable rooms, appropriate support and the joint organization of scientific and cultural events promote personal contacts with German and foreign colleagues, professional and extracurricular communication and integration into everyday life in Germany. The living space is managed by the local administrations of the universities and research institutions.
