Neues Schloss
The 'central offices' of the Department of Geography are located in the most beautiful building in Giessen, the so called 'Neues Schloss' ('New Castle' in Senckenbergstr. 1).

Additional rooms are located in a second building, also listed as a historic monument, in Schlossgasse 7, approximately 60 meters from the Neues Schloss building.

Didactics of Geography
On the outskirts of Giessen, southeast of the city center between Schiffenberger Weg and Licher Straße, the Didactics of Geography research group has their offices on the Philosophikum II campus, Building G.

Directly next to the Neues Schloss building is the 'Zeughaus', which originally served as the landgraves’ armoury, and currently houses various department from different faculties of the university.
The Department of Geography uses the large lecture hall in this building for some events. There is also a departmental library in the Zeughaus.
