O Solitude

DE: Und so wurde entschieden, dass Leslie Lachlan ihre Anerkennungsjahre auf einer Solo-Mission verbringen sollte, weit weg in einem Gebirge, das ihr unbekannt war. Dort angekommen, schlägt sie ihr Lager auf, praktiziert ihre Magie, überlebt alleine in der Wildnis. Ihre Geschichte erzählt von Reisen, von Verletzung und tief liegenden Gefühlen – und wir lesen sie, rauchen, schauen auf unsere Handys, leisten ihr Gesellschaft. Die Performance ist eine performative und literarische Studie über den Begriff der Solitude, das künstlerische Solo, sowie den Trost und die Bitternis, die in der Gesellschaft fiktionaler Charaktere gefunden werden können. Als Reaktion auf die Performance entwickelt Felix Schwarzrock in seiner Video-Installation ‘Leslie wanted to return’ Leslie Lachlans Welt in Text und Animation weiter. An diesem Abend werden beide Arbeiten zum ersten Mal gemeinsam gezeigt.

EN:And so it was decided that apprentice Leslie Lachlan would spend her years of recognition on a solo mission far away in mountains that she had never been to before. There, she sets up camp, she practices her magic, she survives alone out in the wild. Her story is one of travel, danger, injury and deep-felt emotions – and we are reading it, smoking, checking our phones, keeping her company. The performance is a performative and literary study on solitude, on the artistic solo and on the comfort and hardship one may find in the company of fictional characters. In response to the performance, Felix Schwarzrock further develops Leslie Lachlan’s world in text and animation in his video installation ‘Leslie wanted to return’. This evening, both works will be shown together for the first time.
