Über Dr. Volker Maiwald
Dr. Volker Maiwald arbeitet am Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme des Deutschen Zentrums für Luft- und Raumfahrt in Bremen. In der Abteilung Systemanalyse Raumfahrtsegment beschäftigt er sich mit mit Machbarkeit, Kosten und Nutzen von Raumfahrtsystemen und –konzepten der Zukunft, berechnet Flugbahnen und plant Habitate für isolierte oder harsche Umgebungen.
Vortrag: The Long Road to Mars
Mars has been aimed at for human exploration for decades, yet the road to reach it is indeed long and requires many careful steps. This talk will present developments towards this goal within the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and take a look at the status of current scenarios for reaching the Martian surface. Which obstacles are still to be faced? What are issues of sustainability that need to be solved?
